Irvine LGBTQ+ Telehealth Services

As the largest LGBTQ+ medical clinic in Orange County, Radiant Health Centers is committed to quality healthcare and health equity across the community. To ensure we can deliver our health and social services wherever they are required, telehealth access for a range of health issues is available to our patients.

Telehealth visits are used in combination with in-person appointments for HIV treatment, family planning, hormone replacement therapy and primary care. For many needs, including initial consultations, follow-ups and prescription assistance, patients can receive high-quality health advice and treatment without leaving their homes. And of course, we are still available at our Irvine clinic for STD testing, physical exams and other services where virtual calls are not sufficient.

As with all our services, telehealth visits are free  for the uninsured. For those with health insurance, our team will request the necessary information when scheduling your telehealth visit.

Telehealth Visits Make Medical Care Possible for the Entire Orange County LGBTQ+ Community

At Radiant Health Centers, telehealth is a medical service that enables us to provide the best quality of care to our patients. The addition of telehealth services ensures the LGBTQ+ community in Orange County gets choice, accessibility and responsiveness in their treatment. Here are just some of the ways telehealth is helping patients.

Medical Care for Underserved Communities

Many patients within the LGBTQ+ community struggle to get access to competent and compassionate healthcare. For instance, transgender people routinely face healthcare challenges. There’s also a disparity of care experienced by many Black Americans who are living with HIV.

As a result, this difficulty in finding friendly and knowledgeable medical professionals plays a key role in the health outcomes of many within the LGBTQ+ community. Telehealth is another tool that allows us to address these health care disparities, and treat individuals with the care they deserve.

Specialized Medical Treatment

Patients requiring HIV treatment, hormone replacement therapy and other services require specialized treatment from experienced healthcare professionals. Sadly, many people may become reluctant to visit a healthcare provider after they’ve had a negative experience. In response, Radiant Health Centers brings compassionate, considerate and non-judgmental care to community members.

Transportation Barriers Are Reduced

Sometimes making an ongoing commitment to visiting our Irvine medical clinic can be difficult for patients. Accessing transportation is not always possible, and this can lead to canceled appointments and disruptions in treatment. Virtual communication addresses these common concerns, bypassing transportation roadblocks.

Health Issues That Prevent Easy Travel Are Addressed

Many medical issues can contribute to the difficulty some experience in traveling to our medical clinic. In many of these instances, telehealth visits are helpful to those patients dealing with chronic pain and other health challenges. For follow-up discussions and prescription refills, it’s often easier on a patient to communicate via smartphone, computer or tablet.

Patient Care and Access to Doctors Is Improved

Telehealth medical care works because it’s efficient and accommodates each person’s needs. Patients can receive appointment reminders, check their medical records and deal with prescriptions through our Patient Ally portal. This approach means it is easier for patients to stay informed, access their medical provider – and to maintain good health.

Common Questions About Telehealth Access

Will I receive the same level of treatment using telehealth?

Yes. Our telehealth services provide the same level of care that you would receive during an in-person medical visit, but without the need to travel to our medical clinic. The service makes it easier for medical providers to deliver the best service to patients while minimizing disruptions. Here we share how to prepare for a telehealth visit .

Will telehealth make it harder to see a doctor?

No. Telehealth is an additional tool our team uses to help patients. The service is used when it can deliver the most benefit. For example, you will still need to visit the medical clinic for HIV and STD testing, physical examinations and many other services.

Can I get access to the patient portal for prescription refills?

Patient Ally is available after a referral from a medical provider. In most cases, details will be provided during an initial telehealth appointment.
