Orange County LGBTQ+ Health & HIV Care Professionals

Our main goal at Radiant Health Centers is to provide care and support for those living with HIV in the Orange County area. We believe that people with HIV should have access to comprehensive healthcare services, whether that includes critical medication, mental health services, or food and nutrition support.

In addition, we offer services like family planning, birth control, HIV/STI testing and PrEP for the entire LGBTQ+ community. Our team of experienced physicians ensures patients receive access to specialized care tailored to meet their needs. And thanks to the support of our volunteers and donors, we continue to develop new programs to deliver healthcare equity across Orange County.

LGBTQ+ Healthcare Is a Priority for Us

Many people within the LGBTQ+ community feel let down by their healthcare providers, and it’s often due to a lack of education regarding their individual needs. Individuals routinely report incidents of discrimination in a doctor’s office or other facility, and this frequently leads to a reluctance to seek the medical care they need.

In contrast, Radiant Health Centers provides a welcoming environment with knowledgeable and compassionate staff. Visitors to our medical clinic can feel comfortable expressing themselves in a dedicated environment. With the support of the community, the work done by Radiant Health Centers medical clinic staff can play a significant role in ending the HIV epidemic in Orange County.

Medical Services We Provide at Radiant Health Centers

Radiant Health Centers provides a range of services for people living with HIV and others in the LGBTQ+ community. Our medical clinic services are free for those that qualify. Those with health insurance can also access our services, but we will first need to obtain their health insurance provider information.

Primary Medical Care Services

Our primary medical care services play a key role in wellness and the prevention of health issues. Because comprehensive care is available from clinic staff who are understanding of their needs, patients can build ongoing relationships with our medical providers. At Radiant Health Centers, we use primary care to deliver a range of services that prevent, diagnose and treat conditions affecting the Orange County LGBTQ+ and general community. These services include wellness visits, physicals, medical checkups and more.

A wellness visit typically involves a discussion about overall health, plus any changes to existing conditions. A periodic visit may prompt a change in medication to deliver improved results, and your doctor may also recommend lifestyle changes that encourage better health. Physicals are routine examinations focused on overall health, or may relate to a specific health issue. To help prevent or diagnose disease, a medical checkup usually combines a physical examination with questions about symptoms, lifestyle and risk factors. Radiant Health Centers’ telehealth services are a convenient way for Orange County patients to access dedicated healthcare. We offer a range of solutions through our virtual service, including initial consultations, follow-up appointments and prescription assistance. Patients are assured of the same level of care available during an in-person visit without the burden of travel.

Telehealth will be used by our medical team in combination with visits to our Irvine medical clinic. For physical exams, HIV and STD testing and other hands-on treatment, patients may require a face-to-face appointment. And where ongoing medical care is required, patients can access medication refills, easy access to providers, along with guidance directly through our remote telehealth facilities.

Free HIV, STD & Hepatitis C Testing

Our HIV, STD and Hepatitis C testing services make up a major part of what we do. HIV testing is available by appointment in our medical clinic or at home. The earlier you receive an HIV diagnosis, the quicker treatment can begin. And at our clinic, if our providers order a Rapid HIV test, results are available within 15 minutes. Therefore, when you have any concerns about your status make an appointment as soon as possible.

STD testing is available for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and other infections. All appointments are private and confidential. By taking precautions and visiting us for testing, you can prevent the spread of these diseases and ensure you remain in good health.

Family Planning Services

At Radiant Health Centers, we provide a range of family planning and birth control services to the LGBTQ+ and general community. Our staff is considerate and informed on the personal requirements of each of our patients, and they prioritize the health and well-being of all who visit us.

Some of the family planning and reproductive health services we offer include pregnancy testing, breast and pelvic examinations, birth control and adolescent services. We also provide sexual health testing and treatment, and aim to make our services available to the entire LGBTQ+ community in Orange County.

PrEP, PEP and Rapid ART

Among our HIV care and treatment options are PrEP, PEP and ART. PrEP is a prescription medication that reduces the risks of contracting HIV for those most at risk. PEP is an emergency medication that is used as soon as possible after potential exposure. Finally, Rapid ART is a drug treatment that limits the HIV viral load to undetectable levels.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Hormone replacement therapy is a treatment for aligning one’s gender identity with one’s body. Patients will take either estrogen, the feminizing hormone, or the masculinizing hormone, testosterone. Adjusting the levels of hormones allows individuals to transition to their preferred physical appearance, assisting with gender dysphoria and overall happiness.

Our dedicated team provides support through the transitioning process, with ongoing assistance from our counseling staff. Whether you choose to undergo hormone therapy alone or along with gender-affirming surgery, the treatment can be an important part of synchronizing gender identity and physical and emotional characteristics. Before hormone replacement therapy begins, we provide an initial consultation to discuss goals and answer all treatment questions.
